Pictures From Our Thanksgiving Day Feastivities

Filed under: Uncategorized — Diana @ 4:48 pm

Here are some pictures of our adventures this Thanksgiving.  We spent Thursday @ my parent’s.  There was great food, games, a whole lot of kiddos running around, and a whole lot of FUN!  Here we are with our little Indian…..or, to be politically correct as people kept correcting me….our little Native American…..

The boys had great fun with “Pin the hat on the turkey”.  Caden did an awesome job keeping his eyes closed even after being spun 5 times…….

After our feast and some naps, Grandpa had bought trucks that the boys could put together with their dads.  “Is it done yet?!?”…..

How much does 1 little turkey grow in 1 year?!?!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Diana @ 5:51 pm

Last year we made a shirt for Tyler to wear on Thanksgiving.  It had a Mommy Turkey (my handprint) followed by Mommy’s little Turkey (Tyler’s handprint)…..

This year we were again making some handprint Turkeys for some cards.  I had had Tyler’s turkey shirt out because I wanted to see if it would still fit him this year, most likely not, but it was a size 12-18 month, so I thought I give it a try.  I set the shirt down in a spot where his handprint turkeys from this year were sitting and then I saw it….somehow my little turkey from last year has grown exponentially in the past year!!! Here is his handprint on the shirt from last year and one of our turkeys from this year….

Are you serious?!?!  How does one little turkey get so BIG in just 1 year?!?!?  Awe, it made my eyes well up with tears!!!  Don’t get me wrong, I am so so thankful and we are so blessed he is so healthy and getting so big….but he is just soooooooo BIG!  He does big boy stuff, he plays with big boy toys, he says big boy things, he has a big boy appetite, and his hand size has tripled in the last year….perhaps I should add a life “PAUSE” button to my Christmas list this year!!! :-)

No Girls Allowed!!!

OK, well, except for Mommy :-)

It all started with a vision…something to off-set the end of long hours spent outdoors playing that the cold weather had put to an end….

Yes, it started with a vision….some cardboard…..some flashy silver duct-tape…a Daddy…and his little helper :-)

Impromptu Photo Session

Sunday Tyler and I were sitting @ the kitchen table before we left for church.  We were just sitting there and he started just flashing this cheezy smile and then started doing that while sitting there with his hands crossed like he was posing for a picture.  So like any good mom, I ran for my camera.  He won’t always let you just take pics of him smiling, you have to “catch” him, because when the camera comes out, he often wants to see the picture on the digital screen right after you take it.  But, I have to say, I was SUPER impressed with my shot above – not that it was really all ME, first the sun, moon and starts all aligned, then we happened to be wearing a clean and cute sweater, and then miracle of all miracles did happen when he smiled and looked right @ me just when I hit the button @ the exact right second to take the picture.
Here are the other pics from our session…..they are all really cute….but I could be a little biased :-)

Mo Can-de….

Filed under: Uncategorized — Diana @ 11:20 pm

We started “trick-or-treating” on Halloween bright and early showing up @ Grandma and Grandpa’s around 10am (in pj’s – not full costume attire).  Aunt Kathy and cousins Caden and Nolan were already there and ready for some family fun.  It was a great time!  The boys made cookies with Grandpa, we spent alot of time playing outside in the leaf piles Grandpa had prepared for the boys, and they put their costumes on (OK, WE – Kathy and I) put them in their costumes for some pics.  Here are our adventures…..

Grandma and her boys…….

After we left Grandma and Grandpa’s we went to MeMe and PaPa’s house where lucky for us Auntie Kimmmmm and Great Grandma were also.  Here we napped, made fun of Kimmmmm (there was some great material to work with that day!) – we love you Kim!!! :-) , and trick-or-treated in costume.  We only went to 4 houses but believe you me, Tyler figured out what it was all about.  This is the neighborhood I grew up in so we went to the neighbor’s houses who I had known growing up so that was fun.  The first house Tyler hit a jack-pot as they were handing out dum-dum suckers – a Tyler favorite!  He went up and took a big handful, gave them to Auntie Kimmmmm, took one back, and stuck it in his mouth.  He had a few suckers that night, a mounds fun size bar, and a Hershey fun size bar.  It didn’t take too long to catch on because I think it was after the 2nd house he started saying “Mo can-de” which is more candy .  Here are some pics……
